Playtesting Signup Form
All playtesters are required to fill out this form. By completing this form, you have agreed to the rules and conduct requiring this playtest of “Acting Out!”.
By submitting this form, you have read and acknowledged the rules and guidelines and are willing to abide by them.
PLAYTESTER RULES
1) RESPECT! (golden rule; applies to everything)
2) PRIVACY
Please do not share/post content and updates about the game or playtesting onto other websites and social media platforms.
Please do not share/post personal information about myself or other members (unless given expressed permission to do so).
Please do not invite non-members to playtesting or group chats (requires my permission first. They must have filled out the form here).
Please do not take or upload photos/videos of playtesting or any of the materials during a playtesting session.
3) PROFESSIONALISM
While this intended to be a silly party game with dumb jokes and goofy scenarios, I would still like to treat this, as well as playtesting sessions, as a (casual) work environment. While I want people to enjoy themselves more than anything, I would just like to set some ground rules here.
Please try not to discuss things that are not relevant to the context of the game, or the game’s development (avoiding way off-topic tangents).
Please no “shit-posting”, “shit-talk” or spamming memes.
Please avoid serious discussions directly regarding politics, religious faith/beliefs, wars (both ongoing & historical), campaigns, social justice/movements, and other real-life controversy.
Please abide by Rule 1 (respect) when discussing things with other members. Its perfectly-fine to disagree with something or someone (including me), but it should be in a way that is not overly-dismissive or judgmental, and especially not judging others on personal bias.
4) SAFETY
For both online and in-person interactions; Especially in a setting involving scenarios and characters.
Please do not playtest the game in a way that could cause oneself and/or another person(s) physical harm, or damage to game pieces, property, and/or personal belongings.
Despite what a Script Card might read, please abide by a “no-contact” rule when playing. This means to not use physical actions (grabbing, hugging, holding, nudging, etc.) for a performance, UNLESS they (the other actors involved) have expressed verbal permission. I feel it’s very important to NOT make any assumptions about other players when it comes to this rule.
This game is absolutely NOT INTENDED for users to “make advances on”, and/or express legitimate or implied devious/sexual opinions towards other members. Zero-tolerance for any of this behaviour.
Please only playtest while at an acceptable level of sobriety, as to not impair one’s judgment/analysis. While intended to be a party game, it is important for me to get the most accurate results possible from people testing the game.
Please maintain hygienic and sanitary standards during and before arriving to a playtest.
5) Gametesting
Please do your best to abide by the provided game instructions and rules, and avoid deliberate revision of the rules. If you and other players are stuck for whatever reason, do simply what you believe is the correct procedure for completing the game. It is ultimately my responsibility if players are getting stuck or confused for any reason, but I must be able to witness it.
Please try to avoid doing things that are unproductive or distracting from the playtest itself.
Please avoid taking frequent or excessively-long breaks if possible.
Please do not scatter or damage game pieces if possible.
Please do not distract or block myself from observing and documenting the playtest.
As I will be documenting and making notes about the playtesting process, I can NOT be asked for instructions or advice on how to play the game, nor can I be asked to be a participant.
Please understand that the scenes and characters depicted in the game are 100% intended as FICTIONAL, and therefore have zero intended association with real-life political, religious, economic, or social controversies and/or campaigns. Please do not make assumptions about this sort of thing without direct evidence, as to avoid potentially spreading false information.
I am happy to answer any questions and concerns regarding the rules for playtesters. All rules are set in place to ensure safe and adequate playtesting.
